Daniel MacDonald lives in Redlands, California with his wife and daughter. He moved there in 2013 when he accepted a job offer for an Assistant Professor position at California State University San Bernardino. He is originally from Webster, New York.
Daniel has a PhD in Economics from University of Massachusetts Amherst (2013), and an A.B. from Seton Hall University (2007), where he double majored in Mathematics and Economics and completed the University’s Honors Program.
At California State University San Bernardino, Daniel has taught over 50 courses to undergraduate economics students in his 12 years as a professional educator. These include introductory classes on the major as well as advanced courses in data analysis and even a course on the Political Economy of Southern California.
Inland Empire Dynamic Insights was founded by Daniel MacDonald in 2025 to provide information about how Inland Empire communities have changed and how to harness potential for future growth.
